Camp Bado Dangwa – A member of a notorious and long existing drug group in Baguio City, who covers up as tourist guide, was nabbed in a recently carried out anti-drug operation in front of the Starwood Hotel along Kisad Rd. in Baguio City by drug law enforcement agents.
The subject drug pusher, identified as Roland Arquillo y Vergara alias “Rolly”, 32, married, college under graduate, native of Cadiz City, Negros Occidental and resident of No. 211 Purok 6, Gabriela Silang, Baguio City, was also in the Watch List of Drug Personalities in the Cordillera Region.
Arquillo was apprehended after selling a sachet of shabu to an agent of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) – Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) who acted as poseur-buyer during the buy-bust operation conducted at around five o’clock in the afternoon last October 31. When frisked by his arresting officers, he yielded three more sachets of the illegal drug.
A case for Violations of Section 5 (Sale, Trading, Administration, Dispensation, Delivery, Distribution and Transportation of Dangerous Drugs and/or Controlled Precursors and Essential Chemicals) and Section 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) of Republic Act 9165 (The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) had already been filed against Arquillo before the Office of the City Prosecutor, City of Baguio, under NPS Docket No. INQ-09-02188.
Meanwhile, Arquillo is now with the Baguio City Jail. He actually claims that he earns PhP15,000.00 a month just by working as a tourist guide. But the PDEA – CAR believes some of his partners or clients in the illegal drug trade might be tourists.
