CAMP DANGWA, BENGUET: In line with the 14th PCR month celebration and 2009 Blood Donor’s Month of the Philippine National Red Cross (PNRC), police personnel at the Regional Headquarters of Police Regional Office Cordillera held its Blood Letting Activity on July 30, 2009 at the Grandstand of Camp Dangwa La Trinidad, Benguet.
Nineteen (19) personnel have successfully donated their blood administered by the personnel of Benguet Chapter National Red Cross headed by Mr. Oscar G Paris. Pcsupt Orlando L Pestano, Regional Director said that Blood Letting activity is part and parcel of the PNP’s mission as it caters to its social responsibility to be of help of those in need of blood supply. This is in partnership with the Philippine National Red Cross in its program for non-remunerated blood donation with this year’s theme “Towards 100 % Voluntary, Non-remunerated Blood Donation” with slogan, “One Nation, One Blood share.”
To recall, thirty five (35) PNP personnel of Kalinga Police representing the different Municipal Police Stations had also voluntarily donated their blood together with six (6) multi cab drivers on June 16, 2009 at Kalinga Province. The Bloodletting was administered by the PNRC Kalinga Chapter led by Ms. Cecil Bosway.
As always said, Blood donation is a life saving gift and a social responsibility that each individual concerns can easily give to others. As you give blood, it also replenishes with renewed energy. (PNP-COR PIO)
