BAGUIO CITY, Aug. 6 (PNA) — The city government and tourism council officials are set to meet with the Advertising Congress Board (Ad-Board) next month to finalize preparations for the 2009 Ad-Congress to be held in the “city of pines.”

The Advertising Congress will be among the most important activities in the observance of the city’s centennial celebrations.

This was learned from Baguio Country Club (BCC) general manager Anthony de Leon, who is also among the tourism council officials in this city.

“The Ad-Congress is one of the biggest event here next year and we have to fully prepare to host a big number of our country’s business executives and officials. We should have the so-called consortium of support for the event where leaders in various industries will set the various policies of our business as well as how we can fully give service to the people,” he said.

De Leon also bared that next year, there will be five other big conventions to be held in the city where more than 15,000 delegates, composed of professionals and businessmen, are expected to attend.

Because of this, he said, the tourism and business sectors are now intensifying their efforts to share in the solution the city’s problems like the efficient management of garbage.

De Leon added that promotions of the city as convention destination have started since January “if only to help our local and national governments achieve our collective goals of progress and unity for the country.” (PNA)
