CAMP DIEGO SILANG– The growing assumptions that PSUPT JANE ANDRES AUNZO is involved in the recently raided Naguilian Shabu Clandestine Laboratory are misguided as they are false.
“Her relieve order is in no connection whatsoever to the discovered clan lab. It was only in bad timing that her order came as the investigation is still ongoing. She has served this office for more than two years & that is a testament of her dedication to the service.” Bismarck Bengwayan, Public Information Officer of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Region One (PDEA RO1) stated.
The Agency Orders numbered 2008-15, dated July 25, 2008 & effective last July 28, 2008 underscored the Termination of PSUPT Aunzo as Acting Regional Director at PDEA RO1 and her Reassignment at the Holding Office PDEA National Headquarters. It also stated the Designation of Director Roberto S. Opeňa as her subsequent replacement. The orders did not contain any other reason of her termination besides from the fact that PSUPT Aunzo has been serving Region One for more than two years. Other PDEA regional directors have already been reshuffled from other regions for the past two years as by policy of the premier Drug Agency. The fact also remains that Colonel Aunzo is the only female director who stayed that long in a certain region.
Task Force Bimmotobot co-Commander DDGA RAMON GATAN of the Provincial Regional Office One expressed his dismay and concern on the sudden news. The Task Group commanders also conveyed their surprise. Task Force Bimmotobot is the specialized team composed of various law enforcement agencies that is hunting down the masterminds of the clan lab. As of present, the Task Force already filed cases against PSUPT Dionisio Boromeo y Carbonel, PO3 Joey Abang y Arce, PO1 Rodolfo Damian Jr.,Sibayan and PO2 Walter Banan y Estillore all serving the Philippine National Police. While a for violation Sec 8 in relation to Sec 26 Article II of RA 9165 otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002, against Joselito Artuz aka Joey Artuz and several John Does of Chinese Nationality including one who was identified as aka Jimmy and one Andy has been also served.
The recent media hype that she is somehow connected to the clan lab sprouted was after several media practitioners received raw information of her termination which coincided with the semi-annual Command Conference of all the PDEA Regional Directors, which started on July 29, 2008 at PDEA NHQ Manila wherein all the regional directors and key personnel’s are mandated to attend. The said conference tackles the issues of each region and places each regional director at the hot seat as their superiors and colleagues assess their mode of action in the region that they are assigned at.
“I am a mother of five and know the effects of drugs in the youth, I saw them suffer and I felt the pain of the parent’s burden why should I be in any way connected to something that would destroy my children’s future.” Psupt Aunzo remarked sadly as she learned of the news of her name being tainted.
