Girl rescued from ‘abductor’

A MAN was arrested by Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) policemen for allegedly abducting a teenage girl, a police official said.

CIDG Regional Director Cedrick Train identified the suspect as Cipriano Fonteviros Jr. alias Jun or Josit, a resident of Camp 6, Tuba, Benguet.

The 16-year-old victim is a stay-in helper in the house of a lawyer at Teodora Alonzo Street, Baguio City.

CIDG policemen, together with the victim’s brother, went to Urdaneta, Pangasinan last Monday to rescue the girl.

According to the complainant, his sister was last seen working in the house of lawyer Maita Andres before she was allegedly abducted by Fonteviros.

“The CIDG team successfully rescued the minor in the house of certain Roel Francisco. The suspect was subsequently put under arrest,” Train said.

After his arrest, Fonteviros was immediately brought to the CIDG regional office for documentation. The victim meantime was turned over to her brother. (ENO)
